Michael Powers

Founder, Chairman and CEO

Michael Powers, Founder, Chairman and CEO, started Mplayit to connect independent content developers to mobile content consumers and to utilize online social networks to further expand that market. Previously he founded an independent mobile applications publisher, shipping applications for the first commercially available Java-enabled handsets for the Nextel network in 2002, and those products won awards from Motorola and Sun Microsystems for best-in-class productivity software. Turning to the smartphone market, his applications and games launched on the original T-Mobile Sidekick and continue to be top-sellers in their category. As Mplayit’s CEO, he continues to be a thought leader in the evolving mobile content industry. Powers is a graduate of Princeton University. Craig Dalton

Vice President, Business Development

Dalton has 16 years experience in sales and marketing management as well as extensive experience building profitable business strategies.  As Mplayit’s Vice President of Business Development, he is responsible for establishing strategic relationships with mobile operators, social media and Web 2.0 companies wishing to increase existing and develop new revenue streams utilizing the company’s online trial and merchandising solutions.  Prior to Mplayit, Dalton managed business development for MMS pioneer Hook Mobile leading initiatives with wireless operators and social media platforms.  Earlier, Dalton managed business development for global mobile entertainment publisher, I-play. His responsibilities included negotiating operator agreements, developing a Direct to Consumer strategy and creating a mobile video business unit. Prior to I-play, Dalton managed business development for interactive television and mobile pioneer, Proteus, having completed the first TV to SMS campaign in the US with Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002 that established the TV to SMS market in the U.S. Mr. Dalton holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Irvine and a BSBA in Business Administration from The American University. Matt Callaway

Vice President, Product Management

Matt Callaway has 13 years experience in product management, marketing strategy and online community building in the interactive entertainment industry. As Mplayit’s Vice President of Product Management, Matt is responsible for defining and executing the company’s strategic product roadmap. Prior to joining Mplayit, Matt led global product strategy and marketing for AOL’s Winamp, a leading media player with over 80 million monthly unique users. Prior to AOL, he worked at Electronic Arts as Director of Online Marketing and Community, where he led a team responsible for online consumer outreach and web extensions of games under the EA, EA GAMES, and EA SPORTS brands. Earlier, Matt worked as a Director at SegaSoft (later Sega.com), where he led marketing and community planning for HEAT.net, a leading PC online gaming network. In his early days in interactive entertainment, Matt was a co-creator of GamePen, and later the UGO network. Matt attended American University, where he studied International Relations, with a focus on cross-cultural communication and conflict resolution.
