About

The mplayit software developer kit includes the mplayit widget as a standalone application. It’s a pure Java emulator implementing MIDP 2.0 and MMAPI, suitable for integration with your favorite environment and IDE. Third-party integration efforts exist for Ant, Eclipse, Idea, and we hear of more efforts almost daily. screenshot

The emulator and everything else in the sdk is free. We want to encourage you to make it part of your standard tool chain because that ensures that your software is compatible with our webstart demonstration service.

For developers on OS X, the mplayit sdk is your best (and only) option for MIDP 2.0 development and it includes Sun’s preverify tool as a native executable.

The mplayit sdk also includes an experimental implementation of the Scalable 2D Vector Graphics API (JSR-226), the only public implementation outside of Nokia.

Last but not least, the sdk includes the mpp protector, the free utility that encrypts your jad and jar files into a single secure archive suitable for distribution with the mplayit service.
